Then remove Visual stuido off the build server. Make your registry hack and all of a sudden everything starts working :) &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You can run TfsServerManager anywhere as long as you can connect straight from that location to the database tier of the tfs machine. The tool will also log into the sql server to get additional info. the script is nothing more as I described above. So I use the runas commandline to start the tfsservermanager tool and that is it.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Does anyone know what is going on? and how to fix it? &amp;nbsp;Even Microsoft does not seem to consider this problem large enough to create a patch for it.&lt;/p&gt;
