Hi,

Thank you very much for providing us wonderful FREE web part.

I am getting below error while rendering of web part.

Error: Cannot access the view of the list. Are you authorized? Details: Cannot open database "Database Name" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user "SharePoint Application Account"

I have different scenario, I am trying to display source list data from different site collection which is under different web application, if I am taking source list data from the same web application then web part is working fine for me.

Can you please help me to resolve above error? Or if you have any other solution for my scenario then please let me know.

Thanks again for the help. I set it to medium and there's no change. The FlexListViewer is still not showing up.

Thanks so much for your quick response and help on this!

I typed it in the command prompt to add the solution (didn't paste it from anywhere) so I don't think there are any additional characters in the command.

One other thing though. I did see somewhere that in the web.config file some people said you should change the section from:

and we tried that but our sharepoint page completely stopped working so we reverted back to the WSS_Minimal. Would that have anything to do with it?

Hi Max,

The error you get is caused by SharePoint trying to create an instance of the FlexListViewer.

I suspect you've got the addsolution statement somehow misformed. Are you sure there aren't any strange characters on you dos prompt? Also check the order of the parameters, this sometimes causes trouble.

If all else fails, you can open your site using SharePoint Designer and remove the FlexListViewer from your page...but let's hope that won't be necessary!

Good day,

We had our Sharepoint site fail recently and had to revert to a backup of the database and unfortunately that meant that we had to add back in wsp solutions to bring the site back up to where it was working before. We got all but the Flex List Viewer working and here is what we are seeing.

We got the FlexListViewerMOSS.wsp file and used the following command to add the solution to Sharepoint:

stsadm -o addsolution -filename C:\templates\FlexListViewerMOSS.wsp

The wsp file addedd successfully and we went into "Solution Management" in Central Administration and selected the name and clicked "Deploy Solution"

It then deployed but under the "Deployed to" column it is listed as http://sharepointserver/ instead of like all the other wsp files being listed as "Globally Deployed"

We also copied the core.dll, FlexListViewerMOSS.dll and FlexListViewerWebPart.CAB into the BIN directory. We added the line for SafeControl in the "web.config" file.

Also of note is that the solution properties show with "Yes" instead of "No" like all the other wsp files we have and it looks like it was deployed to the server but not globally:

So even though they looked different we went into sharepoint to see if it was available and it was not showing up in the list.

We did some research and saw that we could use the -globalinstall switch to deploy it so we did the following command which worked (after retracting solution in sharepoint first):

stsadm -o deletesolution -name FlexListViewerMOSS.wsp

Then we tried to add it in again with the switch

stsadm -o addsolution -filename C:\templates\FlexListViewerMOSS.wsp -globalinstall

but it kept saying "Command line error. Invalid parameter."

Basically right now after restoring everything and deploying the file the sharepoint page that used the Flex List Viewer has a message in each section it's used stating:

Web Part Error: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.

[UnsafeControlException: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe.]

at Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationRuntime.SafeControls.GetTypeFromGuid(Guid guid)

at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.SPWebPartManager.CreateWebPartsFromRowSetData(Boolean onlyInitializeClosedWebParts)

We'd really appreciate any help!
