I just created this blog post with the new Live Writer from my laptop with Server 2008 x64 on it. I wrote about this some time ago, and how it nagged me that I could not install the previous version in a normal way. now it is available for download here.
I read things about it being a new install, where you had to add the plug-in’s again etc. but for me everything worked from the start.
