Great work on this, Erno. I downloaded and installed it, but there seems to be a little bug on selecting a second gallery from the dropdown and refreshing the albums. I'll stay tuned in for any news on upgrades. Congrats!

Dave,

Could you give me more info on the kind of errors you are getting?

I am currently adding some features like formatting of the picture. I might put it on codeplex depending on how the WLW SDK and the Community Server Gallery API evolve.

That's probably exactly what my issue was. When I selected a second gallery the albums would not refresh. I can't test right now, but I definitely will be! Thanks!

Erno, Is the Community Server Gallery Plugin for Windows Live Writer project on CodePlex yours? http://www.codeplex.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ProjectName=CSGalleryPluginWLW If so, that's great! Dave

Hi Erno, I'm having problems with the plugin connecting to my site. WLW can talk to the site fine and the url to the gallery service is also fine. I was wondering whether the plugin uses the proxy settings defined in the WLW config. Cheers, Rory

Rory, Good spot! I am affraid I can't access the WLW connection settings (that's why you have to enter your credentials again for the gallery service) and I didn't include proxy settings. I'll make an update as soon as possible. Thanks!

Livewriter has a native picture insert. This is done with a ftp upload process. But I was told you must have a community server license to active this ftp feature. So your tool is fantastic and save me a lot of time ;-))

good work!

Michel, This plugin is a bit more different than just what you mentioned:

1. ftp upload only supports uploading and no browsing. The plugin does.

2. Not every administrator wants to enable Ftp even when the license is present.

Thanks!

Rory, could you please check if the new proxy settings work for you? Thanks!

Please do NOT use this post/comments area anymore for feedback. I have opened a site on CodePlex that has forums and issue tracking. Releases and sources are also available: http://www.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?ProjectName=CSGalleryPluginWLW

Thank you!

Hi Erno, sorry I can't log into codeplex yet and I thought you would want to know. I still get the same error: --------------------------- CS Gallery Plugin --------------------------- Error connecting to Community Server Gallery service. Please check the settings of this Plugin under Tools | Preferences... | Plugins. --------------------------- OK --------------------------- WLW can still access the posts and I can hit the gallery webservice through IE. Cheers, Rory

Rory, I need more information (no, not your password :) ) so please send me more info on your settings and configuration. You can use Email under This Blog on the top right hand side of my blog or rather use the User Forum on Codeplex. Thanks.

Hi Erno thanks for the plugin. I found a bug when uploading images. The categories shown in the upload window are the categories of the gallery loaded at startup, if you change the gallery the categories are not updated.
