PowerGadgets

During the last few weeks I developed the idea that it would be nice to be able to pull Key Performance Indicators (KPI) data from a data warehouse to the desktop in gadget on the sidebar in Vista. I even asked some colleagues if there are any standard API's or Web Services to access KPI's.

Today (the second day of a course on Longhorn Server I am attending) I was confronted with the extremely cool PowerGadgets[1] that allow you to create gadgets without writing code. Awesome job!

But as you know: although there are a gazillion (that is a 1 with Math.Log(Gazillion) zeros) Quake clones, that won't hold me back in creating my own version!
