This is the FlexListViewer for Moss webpart packaged into a WSS solution package.

  • Install by adding this solution to your farm, and deploy it to the web application you want to use this.
  • On the top level website of a site collection hosted on this web application, enable the FlexListViewer for MOSS feature.
  • This feature will propagate the Flexlistviewer.webpart file to the webpartgallery list of this site collection.

When installing this solution package (via STSADM) I receive the message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object c:\FlexListViewerMOSS.wsp: The solution installation failed. Any clues as to what my problem might be? I also recevied this when I originally installed the webpart (not via the solution) - when I tried to configure it on a page - it found the list I was looking for but produced the above error (thats why I decied to install the solution instead - hoping it would fix the error. Any help appreciated.

Nigel, its highly likely that the user you are logged in with does not have sqldba/admin rights through Windows Authentication on the sqlserver connected to your sharepoint install. That's why most ppl get this error. Regards, S.

" can you please explain how to enable it on wss v3 Thanks Kobi

I'm using the FlexListViewer webpart to show a Links list on my site. It works great other than when I add this webpart to my site it shows a top toolbar and extra fields that I don't want to show. These fields are 'Type','Edit',"Notes'. Is there a way to hide these fields? Thanks, Stacie

Is it possible to use this web part for displaying a Calendar list in the Calendar view mode ?? When I try to link it to a view of my Calendar, I receive an error message= Unable to cast object of type 'System.Int32' to type 'System.String'. Is it related to xslt ? How can I find a xslt file for calendar view ??? Thanks a lot for this webpart, very very useful !!
