SP1 Visual studio and Team Foundation server now available for download

Just got the word that the service packs for Visual Studio 2005 and Team Foundation Server are now available for download at the MSDN sites.

You can download them here:

Visual Studio 2005 SP1

Team Foundation Server SP1

Just as a note: Make sure you have enough disk space free before you install the Visual Studio SP, otherwise you might run into similar issues as I had with the Beta version of the service pack. The required size is just a fact of live and not something that could be reduced. I would recommend that you make sure you have at least 2GB of free space before you install.

For people who do a lot of report development for SQL Reporting make sure you install the latest service pack of SQL server on your client machine, because the fix of the report designer exploding in your face is not fixed in the Visual Studio Service pack but in the SQL service pack. Just you know, it was something I figured out just last week :-)

Heath Stewart suggests a way to disable the cache and lower the space requirement and install time right here http://blogs.msdn.com/heaths/archive/2006/11/28/save-time-and-space-for-vs-2005-sp1-by-disabling-the-patch-cache.aspx also I change the script so it would work on Vista here http://geekswithblogs.net/etiennetremblay/archive/2006/12/15/101261.aspx
