The World's First Open XML Book(let)!

As some of you may have noticed I've not been blogging as frequently as I have been previously. There are a few reasons for this, and one of them can be shared with you today. Even though I have not been blogging, writing stuff about Open XML is something that I have been doing under the covers. I am quite proud to announce the first pocket-size book on Open XML, written by yours-truly.

It's a nice and small booklet. It stands about as tall as my hand if that hand would have been capable of standing. The thickness is also something not to worry about. You can easily finish the book in an evening or two. You will be provided with the key features of Open XML that you require to build a nice cool document centric solution. The statement that the spec is too big to work with is inherently false, since I've been able to work with it without trouble and as an individual. Companies building on Open XML will have no issue with the size, and using this book they get a nice cool intro into the world of Open XML.

What can you expect from the content? There are four parts to the book. You will get informed about WordprocessingML, SpreadsheetML, PresentationML and DrawingML. Find info on custom XML solutions, Spreadsheet formulas or the cool stuff that you can do with the DrawingML graphics. All in all a must read for the non-spec-fanatics which I expect to be the lot of you! There are many XML samples and UI displays to work with, providing an easy overview into that which has been deemed to complex by many!

Have fun!

Ps 1: Check back soon for info on how to get this book.

Ps 2: The book has a website as well. I've been to busy to get it online, but this weekend should be it. My apologies to those of you who have already received a copy.
