Get a hard-copy of the Open XML - The Markup Explained book

The fruits of my labor are finally getting there. I just learned from Doug that he'll be sending over a container ship with hard-copies of my first book on Open XML.

This means I can finally satisfy the overwhelming demand of people wanting to get a hard-copy here in the Netherlands and Belgium (this means you Maarten :)

So if you are interested in a copy of this book, let me know and I'll see what I can do about it. The PDF version is of course available as well, but I'll sign my copies to provide some extra value :)

I do have some further interesting developments which I'll blog about later. The next month is probably really busy, so expect the same amount of posts as last month (I also have a great MSDN article coming up on SharePoint custom fields with all the pooha that you would want in the near future)

Do Danes apply for aquiring a harc-copy of your book? I am currently reading through the PDF-version (and liking it), but would like to have it available as a real book. I would like to purchase a copy - and pending on how good I am at convincing my employer likewise - hopefully at least one more copy for them. :o)

Of course they do! We'll work something out. I intend to make the book freely available, but when sending it to Denmark it would be nice to have the fare covered.

Dank je well :o) That'd be great. Don't worry about the costs of shipping it up here ... I won't say "Just name your price", but I am sure we'll find a way to send the money to you. As you are already co-working with Microsoft USA (Doug), maybe it could be arranged with Microsoft Denmark to have some books distributed through them? PS: How many books will fit in a PAN-MAX MAERSK/P.O. Nedlloyd container ship?

Wouter, I've already gotten one from Doug... I guess the demand for your book will mainly be some of the larger paper recyclers in Belgium and the Netherlands ;-) (seriously: DO get this booklet, it's not the bible of OOXML development, but it does cover 90% of the things you may want to do with OOXML)

So it covers 90% of Open XML and the Open XML spec is 6000 pages. How many pages is your book? :)

We have not discussed font size. I also utilize the often under-utilized sides of the pages.

Yummie, free books. ;-) I'm impressed yopu managed to make a description of the format that is actually smaller than the original 6000 pagen of OOXML. Actually i already read the PDF version but a hardcopy would do nice. So Where do I send a request with address and stuff ?

Hey Wouter, I don't know if you still remember be, but we graduated together at Info Support and you visited my office once when you where teaching in Utrecht. I just read this post and wanted to congradulate you with you're book. I haven't been following you for a while, but it looks like you're doing some great work. Keep on going and maybe whenever I need some help with OOXML, I'll read you're book :) Regards, Sander Moelands

Hey Wouter, sorry for the late reaction, I've been a bit busy and didn't check your blog to notice the reply you posted. Simply said, Life is going great!! I'm currently working as a freelancer giving technical advise and doing some development for multiple companies. The most prominent ones are Tijd Beursmedia (www.tijdbeursmedia.nl) for whom I maintain all of there Java based software and Hubbels (www.hubbels.nl) for whom I provide technicale advise. Also a lot of other small project, but that's just to much to mention. Oh yeah, I'm also living in Amsterdam nowadays. I sort of got bored with Utrecht and decided to move in together with my girlfriend. Furthermore I've got two little questions for you! 1) Would you like to meet up and have a coffee/beer sometime? I don't know how you're agenda looks like, but maybe you could provide some suggestions (have you got my email??) 2) Could you have a look at www.hubbels.nl and let me know if it could be interesting for Info Support? Hope to drink a coffe with you soon, I'll check you're blog more often now ;) Sander
