Description Devoxx France, 6th edition, is one of the most important event for developers in France. During 3 days, Devoxx France offers over 220 presentations, hands on labs, as well as multiple opportunities to meet a very active developer's community around several topics: Java, alternative JVM languages, Web, Architecture, Big Data, I.o.T, Cloud Computing...

Each attendee can choose between several topics and create its own conference. Prestigious keynotes enlight Thursday and Friday morning. The "Meet & Greet" on Thursday evenings offers several gathering events such as BOFs or Seed Networking.

On Thursday April 19, 16.10 h., Maarten Mulders from Info Support will speak about "SSL/TLS for Mortals".

Using SSL/TLS the right way is often a big hurdle for developers. We prefer to have that one colleague perform "something with certificates", because he/she knows how that works. But what if "that one colleague" is enjoying vacation and something goes wrong with the certificates?

In this session we'll take a close look at secure communication at the transport level. Starting with what exactly SSL and TLS is, we'll dive into public/private keys, and signing. We'll also learn what all this has to do with an unfortunate Dutch notary. Of course, there'll be plenty of practical tips & trics, as well as demo's.

Attend this session to become "that one colleague"!
