| Description | DevSum 2021 is going digital! DevSum will take place on the 26th and 27th of May, with pre-conference workshops on the 25th of May. For the seventeenth consecutive year, this will be the biggest Developer Conference in Sweden – DevSum. During DevSum focus will be on the latest trends and technologies within development. There are speakers in various fields such as Web Development, Software Architecture, AI & Machine Learning, Programming languages, Cloud and People & teams. A healthy mix of speakers adds a lot of value to the online event, which is why they are brought in from all over the world. DevSum participants are developers at different levels who wants to keep up with the latest trends, network with colleagues, get inspiration and practical knowledge that they can easily take with them to work the next day and actually use. On Thursday, May 27, at 10:15 h CEST, Sander Molenkamp will talk about 'Serverless web apps with Blazor and Azure Functions'. Client-side Blazor now allows developers to write .NET applications which run in the user’s browser. Combine this with Azure Functions, and you’ve got a cost-effective, highly scalable architecture for serverless web apps. In this session Sander will show how he built Serverless Ponies, a game designed by his 8 year old daughter, combining their respective interests of Azure architecture and cute ponies. The talk will cover the implementation of the front-end using Blazor and JavaScript interop to re-use existing libraries, as well as the back-end implementation using the latest Azure Durable Functions 2.0 features. By the end of the talk, you will be ready to start building your own modern serverless web apps. | |
