Description | In this online event, the Israeli Java Community will be hosting two special guests, to learn from the trenches how so few maintain a tool used by so many - Maven. Also we'll see how to contribute to it. Agenda 19:15 - 19:30* Virtual huddle 19:30 - 20:30* Making Maven Marvellous / Maarten Mulders (Info Support), Martin Kanters (JPoint, Apache Maven Committer) 20:30 - 20:45* Q&A with speaker *)CEST Making Maven Marvellous Have you ever used Maven, ran into a bug and thought: “How on earth can a project this old have this bug?”. Then join this session! Maven, although a well-known and well-trusted project, is run by a relatively small bunch of people. There’s simply more work to do than these people can do! So instead of getting angry, or looking for alternatives, you can contribute to Maven yourself and work on making it even better. Join us on our journey from “how on earth” to “works like heaven”. We’ll discuss how we did it, what we did, and most importantly: how you can start contributing to Maven as well! As you leave the call, better reserve some time in your calendar to start working on that bug ;-). Maarten Mulders Passionate architect, senior developer and trainer at Info Support. Also Oracle Groundbreaker Ambassador and Apache Maven committer. I'm eager about "building the right thing" and "building the thing right". I focus on lean and elegant solutions, and I love to share new ideas and knowledge. Outside work, I appreciate crafting and eating good food, photography, and music, in no particular order. Martin Kanters Senior Developer at JPoint and Apache Maven committer. Working together in teams on complex applications keeps me going to work every morning with a big smile. I get a lot of energy from sharing the knowledge I learn during the job. After work hours I can often be found playing the piano, either at home or at jam sessions. | |
