| Description | Devoxx Belgium 2022 takes place from October 10th until the 14th. Devoxx Belgium is a 5-days conference where the developers community get together and explore the latest technology advancements with some of the most inspiring speakers in our sector. Diverse, local and global talent introduce the newest and most vital content from the development world, with a range of sessions covering Java, Cloud, Big Data, Security, Architecture, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Programming Languages, Methodologies and Developer Culture. Devoxx Belgium expands your knowledge base, sharpens your skills and provides hands-on experience with the latest technologies. Next to the obvious networking opportunities with peers and our partners. At this event Tom Cools will give a session about: Learning through Tinkering. Do you also feel like it’s hard to keep up with all the new tools and frameworks coming your way? You are not alone! By choosing IT, you are choosing to learn for the rest of your life… not an easy task.In this session we’ll look into some concepts that will help you get the most out of your efforts to learn new shiny stuff! Tom Cools will also be part of: Belgian JVM Loves Unite: The User Groups need you! A BoF session where they invite everyone with an interest in the JVM community experience in Belgium to an open discussion on the present and future of JVM related User Groups. You don't have to be a community leader or Java Champion to contribute, everyone is welcome to share their amazing ideas, hopeful wishes and daring dreams! Hanno Embregts will give a session about: Will Git Be Around Forever? A List of Possible Successors. Ten years ago, only Linux kernel committers and other early adopters used Git. Almost everyone else used Subversion. Ten years later, Git is the most popular product. Which makes me wonder: what will we use another ten years from now? And what features would YOU want from your version control software in 2032? No history rewrites? Faster? No merge conflicts ever? In this talk Hanno will discuss a few post-Git products, including Fossil, Plastic and Pijul, and their support for the features we so dearly desire. I'll also try to predict which one will be 'the top dog' in 2032. Hanno Embregts will also be part of a Panel: Exploring Sustainability in Tech Without the Guilt-Trips. Most of us are all well aware of it: the current trend of climate change is not looking great. We can already feel some of its consequences and it is very likely to only become worse. As software developers we’re all about innovation though, so as long as we’re innovating not all hope is lost. So how can you use innovation to become more sustainable, both as a software developer and as a human being? There is no single answer to that question, which is why they are hosting this talk as a panel so that you’ll be able to hear multiple opinions. Each of us has a different perspective and knows different things we can do to help make a difference, and they like to hear from you as well! Maarten Mulders will be part of session about: Apache Maven BoF. A lot of things are moving in Maven’s world. In this BoF, they welcome everybody involved with Maven to discuss. It doesn't matter if you're a user, a contributor or a committer, just join them. | |||||
