|Time||All day event|
|Theme||Security, SSL, TLS|
|Role||Speaker: Maarten Mulders|
|Description||Devoxx France, 6th edition, is one of the most important event for developers in France. During 3 days, Devoxx France offers over 220 presentations, hands on labs, as well as multiple opportunities to meet a very active developer's community around several topics: Java, alternative JVM languages, Web, Architecture, Big Data, I.o.T, Cloud Computing...|
Each attendee can choose between several topics and create its own conference. Prestigious keynotes enlight Thursday and Friday morning. The "Meet & Greet" on Thursday evenings offers several gathering events such as BOFs or Seed Networking.
On Thursday April 19, 16.10 h., Maarten Mulders from Info Support will speak about "SSL/TLS for Mortals".
Using SSL/TLS the right way is often a big hurdle for developers. We prefer to have that one colleague perform "something with certificates", because he/she knows how that works. But what if "that one colleague" is enjoying vacation and something goes wrong with the certificates?
In this session we'll take a close look at secure communication at the transport level. Starting with what exactly SSL and TLS is, we'll dive into public/private keys, and signing. We'll also learn what all this has to do with an unfortunate Dutch notary. Of course, there'll be plenty of practical tips & trics, as well as demo's.
Attend this session to become "that one colleague"!
