Hurray!!! As anounced at the MMS 2009 in Las Vegas, Operations Manager 2007 R2 RTM would be released within 30 days. Although not yet visible on the opsmgr microsoft site, Operations Manager 2007 R2 has apparently gone RTM since it appeared on the download site. An evaluation version of SCOM 2007 R2 can be downloaded here.
