This week Is dedicated to IAG for me. I am having fun while sitting in class with Ran Dolev as our trainer. He used to work for Whale communications and is thus since Microsoft bought Whale a Microsoft employee. he knows what to do with the product. we have a nice lab setup and because I have to do a demo next week on IAG, I am looking with another view to the course. The product I knew already, I am looking for the little gems of inside information, (which are richly available with this trainer). One thing I did not Know for instance: if you put the SP1 installation file, next to the normal Setup file, it will find the SP itself, and install like a slipstreamed install, without going through the hassle of slipstreaming the installation itself. what a way to go….
Last night I played around with my setup and installed a Vista client next to the server 2003 client just to check if it works now with SP1, and it does. Now for some fine tuning I have to work on it. But basically it seems to work great. I do hope the attachment wiper and other ActiveX components used by IAG will work with Vista. (I assume they will, from what I’ve seen from these guys, they ship things only when it works.)
