So I’m at the IT-Forum in Barcelona with some 4.700 others! Let me tell you that is a lot of people. Al the sessions start and end at the same time. Picture the toilets at the end of the morning sessions, crowds running to dump yesterdays tapas, whoeha.
So about the small IT world we’re living in. Yesterday I ran into two guys (not at the same time) who attended a training that I did on Hosted Messaging and Collaboration. If you don’t know the meaning of HMC please take a look at the special site at Microsoft. However first I ran in a guys who is actually from Spain and he took the knowledge of the training home to build (with some colleagues of course) a Hosted Messaging and Collaboration platform for a Spanish Mobile (Telecom) Provider. Juan told me that this provider (Orange) sells Exchange push email together with HTC mobile devices. So I can be proud not only on our team that did the training but also on Juan. You should have seen the smile on his face telling me all about the project. Job well done.
The second guy I ran into is from the Netherlands so that eliminates the language problem 😉 And he also set up part of the HMC platform in a production environment. Basically to cope with managing Active Directory in a shared environment. MPS (Microsoft Provisioning System) sure does a great job there. It will transform the AD in a secure manageable Multi Tenant version for you. And do believe me when I tell that this can be done by hand (I did it so I know) but heck there sure are better ways to get RSI.
So I’m of to the next session and guess what, it’s on the Microsoft Provisioning Framework.
Catch you later..
