Just a year after Sun and Microsoft startled the industry with their agreement ending years of lawsuits, it seems that both companies have taken another step towards collaboration. Day 3 of this year’s JavaOne conference is action packed with all kinds of interoperability sessions between Java and the .NET platform. In recent press announcements the two vendors state that interoperability and single sign on between their enterprise platforms is a top priority, because their customers demand it.
Personally, I’m looking forward to ‘collaboration-wednesday’ since the company I work for specializes in both .NET and Java/J2EE development. Although I’m kinda curious how the average JavaOne attendee will respond to Microsoft employees on stage at their beloved conference. Let’s hope they don’t start throwing their pet dukes…or unleash ‘Tiger’ ;o)
