Last week, I was tagged by Mike Glaser. Apparently, this tagging game is still quite alive and kicking since I regularly see blogpostings appear in my RSS bandit from people who participate.
So, let's be creative…here are my five things you (probably) don't know about me:
The first computer I laid my hands on was a Philips P2000 with a
stackering(talking about old-school…thnx Eric 🙂 ) staggering 16kb of memory! It had a Basic interpreter and I immediately decided to program all the addresses and phonenumbers of my class-mates in it. Unfortunately, I didn't think about the fact that I was the only kid who, at the age of around 10, owned a computer. Nobody wanted my digitized classbook 🙁
After primary school I went to the Strabrecht College (dutch site) in Geldrop and built their first website. Unfortunately when it was finished it became clear the board of directors didn't know about 'my little project' and immediately threw it out of the window…thus ending my SECOND school-programming-experience.
- Still not learning anything from the above experiences I decided to go and study
informaticscomputer science at the Fontys hogeschool in Eindhoven. This is a 4 year study which I decided to do very thoroughly 😉 and finished it after 5 years. It was only until I got hooked up with my to-be-wife that I heard it was actually possible to do a bachelor study in 4 years (she did…) so I had to study real hard from that point on to graduate in 5 years. In hindsight: thanks for pushing me, Monique! 😉
- I am sharing my birthday with our crown prince Willem Alexander (dutch wiki) at the 27th of April. By pure coincidence Monique and I starting living together at 02-02-02…which is the day Willem Alexander married his wife Máxima Zorreguita. I remember painting our living-room with a little television broadcasting their marriage 🙂
5th point…last but not least. Let's think what else you don't know about me and probably don't want to know either 😉 erhmz…I did a career change in december '05, changing from consultant to trainer at Info Support. Currently, I train courses in Office System 2007/ Sharepoint 2003/ Biztalk 2004 / 2006, Team System and the .NET development courses. Busy busy busy… 😉
My turn to tag five people:
Erik Oppedijk : Biztalk guru 🙂
Eric Denekamp : Vista / Exchange
Wouter van Vugt : errr…he does some things with Office as well… 😉
Jeroen Leenarts : One of the java guys at Info Support.
Peter Hendriks : Another one of the java guys. These two (with there colleagues) are making sure Info Support doesn't evolve to a Microsoft-only business. 🙂
