Today i received the following warning during migration of several VM’s to another host:
An internal error has occurred trying to contact an agent on the [MyServer.FQDN] server.
(The directory is not empty (0x80070091))
Ensure the agent is installed and running. Ensure the WS-Management service is installed and running, then restart the agent.
Migration was successful in spite of the warning but I was wondering what exactly went wrong.
In fact the solution to this problem was quite simple. The virtual appeared to have the ‘VM Guest’ ISO (mounted and) present in the folder on the source-server where the virtual machine files originally resided. SCVMM was unable to remove the source VM-folder because of this.
Removing the file manually resolved the problem.
